** St. Paul’s Cub Scout Pack 529

** October 24 – OktoberFest!

Put on your lederhosen and bring a stein for the root beers, this week’s Pack Meeting is also our OktoberFest celebration. We’re going to have a brass band, plenty of dancing and singing, and of course Root Beer and Hot Pretzels. Mmmm, pretzels. Families, including bothers and sisters are invited – if you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please let Mr. Eric know with a head count by Tuesday morning via email (eric@stpaulspack529.com). We will be giving out some some awards this month, and one of the Webelos II dens has an awesome demonstration to show us as well. Additionally, we are welcoming 3 new Bobcat’s to the Pack this week. We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday night.

Additionally, we’re going to have a sign-up sheet for November’s pack activity – on November 11, we’ll be going to Tifft nature preserve for a day of fishing. This will involve learning about fishing and conservation, earning the boys the Fishing Belt Loop and Pins. Wednesday will be the only opportunity for signing up for this activity, so please be sure to sign up or let Mr. Mohr know by Wednesday if you’re going to go.

Finally, for those new to the Pack, we have ordered a new batch of Class B uniform T-shirts. They will be in sometime in early November – thanks for being patient.

** Popcorn Update
This is just a reminder – this year’s popcorn fundraiser has come to an end. Please bring any remaining unsold popcorn product, orders and money already collected this week to the meeting. There was also a vote in the last committee meeting, as well: this year’s goal was adjusted down to $163, which will cover a number of overall pack expenses such as awards, recognition, and the winter campout. Since 30% of everything sold over the $163 will go directly to the scout’s personal account, he will be able to cover his own individual activities from his scout account.

** Parents and Leaders Meeting
Don’t forget – the next parents and leaders meeting is November 11 at Mr. Jonthan’s house. This is your opportunity to voice any concerns and to participate in the successful development of our scouting program. Remember, we’re all volunteers and doing our best at this. We appreciate your input, and we love finding out what we’re doing well and what we can do better.
